Our Valentine's Day Affair

Growing up, Valentine's Day was a family affair. I remember, my dad would always buy my mom flowers, a gift and a card and us girls would also receive something special for Valentine's Day.

So, at our house, it's the same. Nijoy and Noah will always go out in the morning and bring home flowers, while I make heart pancakes for the family!

This year, I am switching it up a little. I found this perfect little heart waffle maker on Amazon and so, Waffles it is!

I keep it pretty simple, nothing fancy! Waffles or pancakes using Bisquick, organic maple syrup, and fresh berries (sometimes whipped cream)

I also like to make the kiddos a basket full of goodies. I don't like going overboard, so I'll usually pick out a theme and put things together from the Dollar Section at Target or Walmart

Last year, my theme was arts and crafts, so I filled up little heart baskets with crayons, paint, markers etc...

This year, the theme is warm and cozy.

My mom is coming over to watch the kids, while Nijoy and I sneak in a date night, so I know the kiddos are going to want to snuggle up with her and get extra spoiled.

Supplies:

Heart Boxes

Tissue Paper

Cozy Socks

Popcorn Packets

Bubble Bath

Travel Bottles

Hershey Kisses (1 packet)

Hot cocoa Bombs

Heart Cups

Heart Cupcake holders

Balloons

Valentine throws and PJ's if you want to go a little extra

(my kiddos already have these, so I skipped them)

I picked up these little baskets at Walmart, along with the cups (4 for $1). I bought a pack of travel bottles and filled it up with bubble bath and took the popcorn packets out of our box in the pantry

I used the cupcake holders for the Kisses, because you HAVE to have a little chocolate...always!

The cozy socks and hand sanitizers (cuz that's a thing now) are from the $1 spot at Target and the Hot Cocoa Bombs are from a local vendor here in Denver. Last, I topped the baskets up with a balloon from Walmart, cuz my kiddos LOVE them and these ones last forever.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this idea of mine for a little something without going too overboard. It's always about the memories, never about the presents...

My Little Helper had to get in the picture...he is so excited about the balloons...

(and yes, he's wearing Santa Pj's, because he still sings Deck the Halls, if he had it his way, it'd be Christmas all year long...just like his mama)

If you are looking for gift ideas for your significant other, I do have some ideas linked here...

Have a wonderful Valentine's Week!
