Isn't it crazy how commercialized holidays are? We walk form store to store and spend hours and hours trying to find the perfect gift. But is the time and effort we put into the gift, the same effort we put into spending time with one another?
This year our family decided to take the gifts out and put the time in.
Today started with an 7am alarm from our sweet little 15 month old. He followed thru by waking up his big sister and before you knew it, the whole house was awake and ready for the day...
Daddy came down to a countertop full of cards from, puppy, babies and honey AND a basket full of his favorite snacks!
We listened to music, ate breakfast, and hurried back home to have a fun and relaxed day.
And that's exactly what we did!
While the babies played out in the yard, I marinated some steaks (Daddy's favorite dinner), cooked a quick Chicken and Rice for the kids.
We played ball, ran around the yard with the kids, took some pictures, all in time to Fire up the Grill!
We made the best of our Colorado Rainy Day
We had lunch on porch, while it drizzled and watched the babies run around with broccoli florets in their mouths.
Shortly after, the babies went down for a nap, hubby relaxed on the couch, and I relaxed by tidying up.
We ended the evening by going out on a long drive...more naps
And finally coming home to a movie and the babies snuggles up between us.
The most PERFECT FATHER'S DAY...Time well spent!!!
